Former England wicket-keeper Matt Prior to attempt 'Tour de France'

Prior will be attempting the event for a social cause

Former England wicket-keeper Matt Prior announced on Twitter about his attempt of the Tour de France just one day ahead of the actual race.

The Tour de France is conducted in 21 stages that includes cycling over 3500 kms over 3 weeks. Prior described the event as the 'biggest physical challenge' he has ever attempted.

He tweeted in parts. His first tweet read: "Hi guys, you may or may not know but in just three weeks time I will be attempting to ride the FULL Tour de France route - 21 stages, 3500km over 3 weeks - just one day ahead of the actual race"

He then explained the reason behind him attempting the event that requires a lot of physical hardwork. He revealed that he will be cycling to raise funds for three institutions.

His next tweet read: "This is the biggest physical challenge I have ever attempted and will hopefully be very worthwhile as we have set a target to raise £300k for the chosen charities @Chance2Shine @DansTrust2012 & @ParkinsonsUK"
