Yuvraj Singh who was India’s hero in World Cup 2011 called it quits from international cricket in a media interaction he called in a posh South Mumbai hotel on Monday. The southpaw was awarded Player-of-the-Tournament in the 2011 edition for his fantastic performance with both bat and ball as he ended up scoring 362 runs with the bat and took 15 scalps in 9 matches.
The brilliant all-rounder was flooded with a lot of praises from the cricket fraternity. 'Master Blaster' Sachin Tendulkar was also one of them who thanked him for everything he has “done for the sport”.
The stylish batsman with 100 international centuries to his name tweeted, “What a fantastic career you have had Yuvi. You have come out as a true champ everytime the team needed you. The fight you put up through all the ups & downs on & off the field is just amazing. Best of luck for your 2nd innings & thanks for all that you have done for cricket.”

Yuvraj was delighted with this tweet and remembered the time when and Tendulkar celebrated after the World Cup 2011 triumph in the latter’s hometown in Mumbai, as he replied, “Thank you master! Very lucky and blessed to play with you for so many years, winning the World Cup for you as a unit was more satisfying then for ourselves! thank you for being there for me always.”
