England are currently playing a 5-match ODI series against the touring the Pakistan side. The first match of the series was called off due to rain. England won the second ODI by a close margin of 12 runs after scoring 373. However, in the 3rd ODI, they chased down 359 with 5 overs to spare.

This England team is considered to be the top favourites for the upcoming World Cup. Their preparation for the mega event has been wonderful with almost all the players in great form.

However, there is a small blip leading into the World Cup. England were found to be two overs late in the 3rd ODI as they required 4 hours to complete bowling their 50 overs which included only 7 overs of spin.

This was not the first time for captain Eoin Morgan in recent times. His team was also found to be behind the required over-rate in an ODI in February against the Windies. Due to this, he has been handed a one-match ban and has also been fined 40 percent of his match fee. This means that he will be sitting out of England’s fourth ODI against Pakistan on Friday (17 May).

Along with the skipper, the players were also fined 20 percent of their match fees. In addition to this, Bairstow was handed a demerit point for striking the stumps with his bat after getting out to the left-arm pacer Junaid Khan.

Along with the exclusion of Alex Hales from their World Cup squad, this is the only black spot in their otherwise great preparations for the World Cup.
