Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli cast his vote in Gurugram on Sunday. His brother was also spotted standing with him in the queue at the polling booth.

Kohli also urged his countrymates to go and vote. Being a huge personality in India, Virat influences the majority of the youth and him asking them to vote could really make a difference.

"Voting is your right and responsibility towards nation building. Go vote," he wrote on Twitter sharing a picture.

Earlier there was news that Kohli won't be able to vote in this year's Lok Sabha election. Virat wanted to vote from Mumbai, where his wife Anushka Sharma also votes. He applied to vote through online procedure. But it was too late for him.

But Kohli later snubbed all the rumors of him not voting this year. He posted a picture of his voter ID card and wrote he will be voting on May 12 in Gurugram.
