Sachin Tendulkar's unique record shattered by the 'Barbershop Girls' of Uttar Pradesh

Sachin Tendulkar, God of Indian Cricket, shattered and made a lot of milestones in his cricketing career, but this time, his own unique rule has broken by Uttar Pradesh’s Neha and Jyoti -who are none other than 'Barber Shop Girls' who are running barbershop to break the stereotypes and support their family.

At the moment, an advertisement has been doing rounds on the social media which has shed spotlight on the inspirational story of the two girls -Neha and Jyoti from Uttar Pradesh, India.

The coiffeur - a profession traditionally dominated by men, but the two girls from the Banwari Tola village in Uttar Pradesh -Neha and Jyoti changed the meaning of that profession when they took over their father's barbershop way back in 2014 when he fell ill.

And even the girls had to take the male names to step into the profession, as they had to pay for their father's treatment, and now the girls are supporting their family and continued to study.

Moved by their inspirational story through that advertisement, Tendulkar, one of the greatest cricketers of all time, has decided to get a shave from Neha and Jyoti, or the 'barbershop girls'.

On Friday, 3rd May, Tendulkar went on his official social media handle to reveal that he not only met the barbershop girls and but also got a shave from them.

Taking to Twitter, the Master Blaster has shared a picture of himself with Neha and Jyoti while shaving at their shop, while revealing an interesting tidbit that he has never gotten a shave from someone else before that. He also presented the two with a Gillette scholarship to cover their educational and professional needs.

His post reads, “You may not know this, but I have never gotten a shave from someone else before. That record has been shattered today. Such an honor to meet the #BarbershopGirls”

Since Tendulkar’s post went viral on the internet, the picture has got almost 7 lakh 'likes' and hundreds of impressed comments on Instagram and Twitter.
