Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on Monday, 18 March, named Australian pace legend Glenn McGrath as the best bowler he has faced in his career spanning 21 years.

Afridi, who is known for his straight-forward viewpoints on matters related to cricket and otherwise, has come up with some interesting facts in the latest interview with ESPNCricinfo.

The 37-year-old, who has hit 476 sixes in his international career, has named McGrath as the best bowler he has faced in his career, while expressed his desire to see the Hollywood fam Tom Cruise to play his role if ever a film is made on his life and career in the future.

Meanwhile, people often make joke about his age, and the legendary all-rounder said: “Age is just a number” having made his international debut in 1996 when he was just 16 and went on to play till 2017, and is currently playing in the T20 events across the globe.

On being asked to pick the best batsman of the modern era between Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson, Afridi did not take any particular name, saying all are best at the moment.

Noteworthy, the all-rounder, who is also known as “Boom Boom” for his hard-hitting capacity, has amassed over 10,000 runs and took about 540 wickets in international cricket for Pakistan.
