Mohali stadium pulls down photos of Pakistani cricketers after Pulwama terror attack

Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has taken responsibility for the Pulwama terrorist attack.

Photos of Imran, Javed, Wasim and Afridi have been removed from the Mohali Stadium

In the wake of the Pulwama terrorist attack, the photographs of Pakistani cricketers have been removed from the walls of I.S. Bindra Stadium (earlier PCA stadium).

Punjab Cricket Association authorities took this step on Sunday (February 17) to show solidarity with the families of martyred soldiers.

“As a humble step, the PCA has decided to show its solidarity with the families of martyrs of the Pulwama attack. There is so much anger in the nation against the heinous attack and PCA is no different in this,” PCA treasurer Ajay Tyagi told PTI.

He also confirmed that around 15 photos of Pakistani cricketers were kept inside the stadium at various points including in the galleries, long room, reception and ‘hall of fame’ area.

The photographs included those of former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who is now the Prime Minister of his country, Javed Miandad, Shahid Afridi and Wasim Akram.

India witnessed one of the worst terrorist attacks on its armed forces as 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were martyred in Pulwama on Thursday (February 14). Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack. Within 24 hours of this horrific incident, India withdrew the “Most Favoured Nation” (MFN) status from the neighbour country.
