Veteran Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has joined Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir to call out for justice to Amit Bhandari after he was reportedly attacked by an unknown cricketer post his non-selection for the Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Mr. Bhandari, former Indian cricketer and Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) chairman of the senior selection committee, was attacked in New Delhi’s Kashmere Gate area on Monday afternoon at the St Stephen’s Ground, where the trials of the Under-23 team for Mushtaq Ali Trophy were underway.

It is learned that the attackers were the U-23 contenders who weren’t selected in the team for the upcoming tournament as they attacked Bhandari with iron rods and hockey sticks during the trials.

Later, his co-selector Sukhvinder Singh admitted Bhandari in the Sant Parmanand Hospital immediately and he is reportedly out of danger.

Meanwhile, Bhandari stated, “I’ve given my statement to the police. I’ve given them the reason of selection and the names (of attackers) as well.”

Following the outrageous incident, cricket fraternity have expressed their fury on social media and called for justice to Bhandari, demanding severe punishment for the culprit. Yuvraj Singh is the latest to condemn the incident and ask for strict punishment for Bhandari's attackers.
