Craig McMillan on Monday, February 11 announced that he'll step down as Black Caps' batting coach after this year's ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Former New Zealand batsman feels it is the right time to move forward from his five-year-long job, during which he helped the Kiwis reach that historic final of the last world cup in Australia. 

"It's been a privilege to be able to work with the likes of Brendon McCullum, Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor day-in and day-out and to see the records they've accomplished has been very satisfying," he was quoted saying. 

McMillan played 55 Tests and 197 one-day internationals for New Zealand at the highest level. He was appointed in the role of a batting mentor by former head coach Mike Hesson, whom Gary Stead replaced in 2018. 

ICC Cricket World Cup runs from May 30 till July 14. New Zealand Cricket(NZC) confirmed that McMillan's replacement will be announced before the tour of Sri Lanka in August.
