Opener Imrul Kayes has lashed out at Bangladesh selectors for the lack of communication following his exclusion for the New Zealand tour, saying he doesn’t know why he is out of national side despite heavy scores and now wants clarification over the same from the national selectors.

Since making comeback to Tiger’s squad, the 31-year-old not only scored an unbeaten 72 against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup last year batting at number six, but also hit two centuries and a 90 in the home series against Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh is scheduled to play three One Day Internationals and three Tests in New Zealand next month and the likes of Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das were favored over Kayes and the left-hander has urged the national selectors to clarify the same.

Kayes told media, “I am playing like this for the last 10 years. I really don't know whether I will be included in the next series despite performing well. Nowadays I don't even expect anything. I remain mentally prepared so that if any chance arises in the national team I can go and perform.”

Following his exclusion for the New Zealand tour, Imrul said if the selectors were unhappy with his form then they should have asked for the same so that he could have worked on it and tried to better, sought clarification regarding his non-inclusion from the selectors.

Imrul added, “If they had clarified me regarding my lack of form, I could have worked on it and tried to better myself. I think it is better if they (selection panel) clarify me about my position. It would be helpful for me if I know why I am not in the national team.”

He signed off by saying, “Perhaps they are not considering me because of team combination because perhaps they are thinking there are too many batsmen on one position so they don't require me.”
