AUS v SL 2019: Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Pradeep ruled out of Australia Test series due to injury

Sri Lankan speedster Nuwan Pradeep is set to miss the Australian Test series down under with a hamstring injury.

"Nuwan Pradeep, who is part of Sri Lanka’s Test squad touring Australia for the two Test series; has sustained an injury and will be out of the series," Sri Lanka Cricket tweeted on Sunday, confirming a Grade 1 strain in his left hamstring.

Pradeep pulled up with the hamstring injury two overs into his spell in Sri Lanka’s warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI in Hobart last week. He underwent a scan and decision to rule him out came after the results.

Sri Lanka is set to play two Tests against Australia with the first Test to begin in Brisbane, which will be a pink ball, day-night Test, to start from January 24.
