Dean Jones, the former Australian cricketer, and commentator believe that Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be known as the greatest One-day player of all time and even ahead of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Having already broken many records of his ideal Tendulkar in his well-known career so far, the dashing right-hander continues to defy all the odds with his willow to match batting master’s levels of excellence and even is on the verge of becoming India’s best ever batsman in the game of cricket.

Ever since Kohli has started scoring runs consistently for India, the comparisons between the India skipper and batting legend Tendulkar have been sparked, but Jones believes that the right-hander will reach another level of the greatness with the bat at the end of his career.

However, many believe that there should not be a comparison between players of different generations, but no one can deny the 30-year-old’s achievements. Kohli’s consistency and hunger for runs put him another level with his every innings on the field, which forced many to reckon him as the biggest brand of the game in the modern generation and compare him with Tendulkar.

Kohli who is currently world's top-ranked batsman in all three formats of the game recently cracked his 39th One Day International ton at the Adelaide Oval – which was his 11th hundred in Australia –most by any visiting batsman in Australia and Jones were all in awe of the star Indian batsman.

Jones wrote in his column for Times of India, “I've noticed now that 32 of Virat Kohli's 39 hundreds in One-day cricket have come in a winning cause. He now has 11 international hundreds in Australia, the most in all formats by visiting batsmen. He's such a magnificent player and I get the feeling, with all due respect to Sachin Tendulkar, that he will be known as the greatest One-day player of all time.”
