Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly came out in support of Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul after the duo was suspended by the BCCI for the upcoming cricketing events aftermath of Koffee with Karan controversy.

Pandya and Rahul have been continuously facing rage from the people following their sexist comments on a popular TV show hosted by Bollywood Director Karan Johar and the two were suspended for the New Zealand series and called up from Australia, where India is currently ODI series.

While the Committee of Administrators (CoA) is not satisfied with the unconditional apology from the all-rounder and batsman, as they are insisting on harsher punishment for the duo, but Ganguly believes that the matter should not take it too far and Pandya and Rahul should be given another chance.

On Wednesday (January 16), Ganguly urged the people to take a considerate view of the duo's mistakes, saying people make mistakes and two already realized their mistakes and their damnable conduct at the show will help them to come out as a better person.

Ganguly told reporters in Mumbai, “People make mistakes. Let's not take it too far. I am sure whoever has done it will realize and come out as a better person. We are all human beings, not machines that everything you put out comes out perfect. You just have to live life and let others live.”

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket great admitted that the duo erred but suggested people move on and should not be judgmental and allow them to improve.

Ganguly signed off by saying, “They are responsible people and they may be role models but they are humans. They are under pressure all the time to perform and certain things happen. We should move on and make sure it doesn't happen again.”
