Pakistan Prime Minister and former cricket captain, Imran Khan, Moin Khan and fast bowling great Wasim Akram and Mohsin Khan congratulated India on their historic Test series win in Australia.

The Pakistan cricket fraternity hailed Virat Kohli-led Indian Cricket Team’s historic success in Australia after the touring side registered their maiden Test series 2-1 in the four-match Down Under on Kangaroos’ soil on Monday (January 7).

They all lavished praise on Kohli and his troops for their record-making efforts in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after India became the first Asian team to win a Test series in Australia.

While Wasim had special praise for Kohli, saying his leadership was incredible throughout the Down Under tour against Australia, Imran congratulated India on their historic win.

Pakistan Prime Minister wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team for the first ever win by a sub-continent team in a Test series in Australia.”

On the other hand, former Pakistan skipper Moin said it was never easy for a sub-continent team to win a Test series in Australia, but India showed great character and did it in style, saying Kohli and his team deserved credit for their successful campaign.

Meanwhile, Mohsin was impressed the way Indian batsmen countered Aussie pace attack in the Test series, particularly impressed with Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant and Kohli’s batting in the series.

Akram said at a function in Karachi, “I think Virat Kohli deserves a lot of praise for this performance and I would think this success can be put down to the solid domestic cricket structure in India.”

Mohsin signed off by saying, “I have been impressed by the batting displays by Pujara, Kohli, Pant, and others in this series as this allowed their bowlers to bowl without any pressure.”
