Indian captain, Virat Kohli welcomed the New Year with his wife, Anushka Sharma in Sydney. Kohli led India to a historic win at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, beating Australia after 37 years in a Test at the venue.

India currently leads the 4-match series 2-1 and will look to complete their first ever Test series victory in Australia, when the two sides lock horns on January 3 at Sydney Cricket Ground. India has already retained the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy with their unassailable lead.

Virat and Anushka celebrated New Year's eve in Sydney and the couple looked to be having a fantastic time as can be seen in the pictures posted by Kohli along with this message for the fans, "Happy New Year to everyone back home and all over the world, all the way from Australia. Have a wonderful year ahead God bless everyone."

Kohli finished as the top run-scorer with 1322 runs in Tests in 2018, and became the first ever captain to win a Test in South Africa, Australia and England in the same calendar year. He will be expected to carry forward the great run of form in the new year, especially in the World Cup in England.
