BCCI announces squads for the Women's Challenger Trophy

Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur to miss the tournament.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) on Friday (December 21) announced squad for the Senior Women's Challenger Trophy, starting from January 3 in Mulapudu, Andhra Pradesh.

Shikha Pandey, Punam Raut and Mona Meshram will be leading the three sides - India Red, India Blue and India Green respectively in the Senior Women’s 50-over tournament in Andhra Pradesh.

Veda Krishnamurthy has also made it to the India Red squad, while the tournament will be lacking a number of national team regulars including Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Jemimah Rodrigues, Taniya Bhatia, Ekta Bisht and Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur will also be missing the tournament as the duo are currently playing in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia.
