Harmanpreet sparkles with the bat to help Thunder register successive win over Strikes

India’s T20I skipper Harmanpreet Kaur once again sparkled in the ongoing Women’s Big Bash League as her half-century helped Sydney Thunder to claim successive win over Adelaide Strikes at Bellerive Oval, Hobart.

Chasing 146, Thunder got off a terrible start as Rachael Priest (0) and Naomi Stalenberg (1) were sent back inside two overs. But Stefanie Taylor (55) and Alex Blackwell (27) bailed the team out of trouble with a 49-run partnership.

Kaur came into the crease with her side needing 93 runs from 11 overs. Although Harmanpreet played five dots at the start of her innings, she didn’t look back after being set. Kaur finished with a brilliant knock of 52 not out off in just 34 balls as the Thunder chased down the target with 5 wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare. Her innings was laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Stefanie Taylor was adjudged Player of the Match for her half-century with the bat and her bowling figures of 2/33 in four overs.

Harmanpreet Kaur has had a good outing in the ongoing WBBL thus far, scoring 45, 56 and 33 in the last three matches besides taking a wicket.
