South African legend AB de Villiers is highly impressed with the young pace sensation Lutho Sipamla, saying the 20-year-old has all the credentials to become a serious fast bowler for the Proteas in the future.

At the moment, De Villiers, the celebrated former Proteas skipper, is playing with Lutho in the ongoing the Mzansi Super League (MSL) for the Tshwane Spartans.

Sipamla is continuously taking the center stage of the South African T20 league with his brilliant bowling and Proteas batting superstar is among those who are impressed with this young gun and expecting him to be their one of the crucial fast-bowlers for the country in the future.

De Villiers told reporters on Friday (December 14), “I am very impressed with him‚ I think he has all the credentials to become a serious fast bowler for South Africa in the future.”

He also urged people to not put too much pressure on the highly talented youngster from Port Elizabeth as he still has a long way to work on his development.

De Villiers signed off by saying, “We must not put unnecessary pressure on him. He is a fantastic kid‚ he has right head on his shoulders and he needs to be given proper guidance and support to learn and improve over the next few years. I am looking forward to watching him grow.”

Meanwhile, Sipamla is not in hurry to represent his country at international level, as he possibly gets call-ups to South Africa A and even the senior side after capturing a lot of attention at MSL.

Sipamla signed off by saying, “I have not put a set target as to when I want to play for the Proteas‚ but it remains a goal of mine to play for the senior national team one day. If it happens quickly‚ or over the next five or six months‚ so be it‚ but I hope to one day play for the Proteas.”
