Cheteshwar Pujara and R Ashwin move up in latest ICC Test rankings

After the conclusion of Pakistan vs New Zealand Test series and Australia against India Test in Adelaide, the ICC Test rankings for batsmen and bowlers have seen a lot of movement in the rankings.

India’s Cheteshwar Pujara moved upto no.4 spot after his Man of the Match performance of 123 and 71 in India’s Adelaide Test win. He went past David Warner and Joe Root.

Meanwhile, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson reached the no.2 spot after his 89 and 139 in Abu Dhabi helped New Zealand win a Test series over Pakistan since 1969. It propelled him to a career-high total of 913 rating points, just seven behind India skipper Virat Kohli. Williamson is now the first from his country to get past 900 rating points.

Ajinkya Rahane rose two spots to the 17th position after his knock of 70 in India's second innings and knocks of 25 and 28 helped Rishabh Pant jump seven places to No.59.

On the bowling side of things, R Ashwin moved up one spot after his six wickets in India’s Adelaide test win. He moved to the sixth spot, displacing Pat Cummins of Australia. Jasprit Bumrah was a big climber, rising five places to No. 33 in the rankings after taking 6/115 in Adelaide.
