NZ A v IND A 2018: Players "on the cusp" have a chance to prove their mettle, says head coach Rahul Dravid

With the three unofficial Tests drawn, the team management is definitely looking at the three 50-over games with hope.

Talented youngsters and other players "on the cusp" of selectin at the highest level have a wonderful opportunity to prove themselves in the eyes of the selectors back home, said India A head coach Rahul Dravid ahead of the team's three-match 50-over games series in New Zealand.

The team management seems to be slightly disappointed with the fact that all of the unofficial Tests played down under, got drawn due to heavy rain downfall across the venues in Mount Maunganui, Hamilton, and Whangarei, and is intent on definitely making a greater use of the list A encounter.

"We were disappointed not to get as much red-ball cricket as we would have liked. But it is what it is," Rahul told New Zealand Herald, ahead of the first one-dayer at the Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui on Friday, December 7.

"We're really looking forward to these matches, and they're day/night games too so it should be a really good experience and a good opportunity to see what it's like in New Zealand under lights," he added.

With the likes of Krunal Pandya, Manish Pandey, Khaleel Ahmed, Shreyas Iyer and Washington Sundar all featuring in his arsenal, Rahul also emphasized how it remains a great chance for them ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales next year, and said, "With the World Cup on the horizon, every game matters to players on the cusp. So these are three important games."

The next two one-dayers are scheduled at the same ground on December 9 and 11, respectively.
