Young England pacer Tom Curran has finalized a one-year deal with the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday (December 4) for the upcoming 8th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2018-19.
With the latest signing, Curran became the second Englishman to join the Sydney-based franchise after Joe Denly for the BBL 2018. The signing of the 23-year-old will strengthen Sixers' pace attack, especially after the premature retirement of John Hastings due to a health condition.
He is looking forward to join the Sixers for the 2018-19 Big Bash League and hoping to have a great upcoming season of the Australian T20 event for the franchise.
Curran said of the latest development, “I'm absolutely delighted to be joining the Sydney Sixers for the 2018-19 Big Bash. Friends and colleagues have told me what a great team environment it is and how passionate the fans are and I'm hugely excited to experience this all for myself. I can't wait to get to Sydney and hopefully help the team have a great season.”
Curran is yet to make his name for himself in the Test cricket, having played only two Tests for England, but is famous for his game in the limited-overs arena, as he has played 11 One Day Internationals and seven T20Is for his country, while his 5-35 against Australia are his best international figures to date.
He also played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League 2018.
