Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi feels Virat Kohli should lead Indian team by following his predecessor MS Dhoni's path. He feels Indian captain Kohli should follow Dhoni's example as a captain.

In a chat with India TV, Afridi, who is currently playing T10 league in UAE, said, "As a captain, Virat needs to win a series abroad. I keep saying that how Dhoni has changed the course of Indian cricket as a captain and as a player, it's the perfect example for Virat to follow. "

Afridi lauded Kohli for his superhuman batting skills and his dedication which made him superior from others.

Virat's records speak for himself, it just shows what a player he his. The most impressive thing I've seen about Virat is that he even takes the nets as a match, so whatever he does in the nets, he displays it in the match.

"He takes the responsibility upon himself and it seems like he loves to face the challenges ahead," Afridi said.

There is a lot of debate on Dhoni's future going on. But Afridi believes, in the end, it's Dhoni's call.

About Dhoni's chances on playing World Cup 2019, he said, "If Dhoni is fit and willing to play, he should definitely be in the Indian squad for the World Cup."

India will play a four-match Test series against Australia down under and Afridi thinks India should win their maiden series against the Kangaroos.

"India can win the series Down Under because Australia doesn't have the team that they used to. India has a superb batting line-up and they have improved their bowling as well," Afridi said.

On the T10 league, Afridi thinks it suits his style of play. "For me, I already started T10, I played according to my strengths and my natural game. I feel happy to see players performing well, their optimism is inspiring. Like (Eoin) Morgan, between last season and this one, he has played brilliantly, I feel that even he is surprised to see himself play this well," he said.

But Test cricket is above all, added the all-rounder. "I still feel that Test is the supreme format of the sport, the audience for Test have reduced in numbers but it should be promoted often which will eventually bring in people to witness," he added before signing off.
