Bangladesh selectors have announced a 16-member squad on Sunday (December 2) for the three-match One-Day International series against the West Indies at home.

Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan returned to Bangladesh’s full-strength squad after being deemed fit for the upcoming three-match contest against the West Indies.

The star duo missed Bangladesh’s last ODI series against Zimbabwe in October due to their respective injuries, while ace all-rounder Shakib has already captained Bangladesh during their whitewash over West Indies – their first Test series victory in four years after recovering from a finger injury.

On the other hand, Tamim, who has been out of action since injuring his wrist during the Asia Cup 2018, was earlier expected to return for the Windies Test series but a rib injury delayed his comeback, as the star opener was only cleared to play in the white-ball series at home.

Before making comeback in Dhaka ODI, Tamim got the opportunity to polish his game in a warm-up match against West Indies on December 6, 2018, at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.

Bangladesh and West Indies will play the three-match One Day International series followed by two T20 Internationals, starting with first ODI on December 9 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
