Dinesh Chandimal returns to lead Lankan team after injury in England series

Sri Lanka announced their 17-man squad for the upcoming tour of New Zealand in December. They have brought back Lahiru Thirimanne and keeper-batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama to the side after almost a year.

Nuwan Pradeep has returned to the side for the two Test matches series. Nuwan was ruled out of the Test series against India last year in August due to injury.

Young pacer Lahiru Kumara who has played 12 Test matches till now is also added to the squad. He has picked 40 wickets in 22 innings with a strike rate of 55.85 and an average of 36.88.

Dinesh Chandimal will lead the Sri Lankan side. He is also making a comeback after a suffering from a groin strain against England which kept him out of the team for two Tests.

The first Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played on December 15 at Wellington and the second Test is scheduled for December 26 at Christchurch.
