The oustanding Virat Kohli remained solid as the numero uno, while off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin climbed one spot to attain seventh slot in the latest ICC Test players' rankings.

Meanwhile continuing to be positioned second in the all rounder's list ahead of India's four-Test series against Australia beginning December 6, left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja also affirmed his 5th slot in the bowlers' rankings.

On the other hand, England's Jonny Bairstow, Bangladesh's Mominul Haque and Yasir Shah of Pakistan also made astounding jumps in the most recent update by the game's world governing body.

Bairstow scored an outstanding ton in England's magnificent victory in the third and the final Test in Sri Lanka, while Mominul too played a solid knock of 120 in Bangladesh's historic 64-run win against West Indies at Chottagram.

Yasir Shah simply ran through the New Zealand batting lineup at Dubai and returned with match figures of 14/184 in Pakistan's innings & 16-run win.

Bairstow has returned to the top-20 in 16th place after rising six places, Mominul is now just outside the top-20 in 24th place after moving up 11 places and Yasir is slotted at 10th position after jumping nine places.

A lot of quality Test Cricket going on and the batsmen making tough runs around the world have been deservingly rewarded. Subsequently, Azhar Ali moved up three places to 12th, Kusal Mendis is 20th (up by eight places), Ben Stokes is 31st (up by five places), Roshen Silva is 48th (up by five places) and Shane Dowrich is 58th (up by seven places).
