Head coach of Pakistan as well as Karachi Kings in the PSL, Mickey Arthur has called for franchise director and fast bowling great Wasim Akram to help pacer Mohammed Amir overcome his mental and technical issues.

Dropped from national side following the disappointing performance during the Asia Cup, Amir has not been seen wearing the green or whites for the Sarfaraz Ahmed led Pakistan ever since. He has been putting in the hard yards at the domestic level, though, and is extremely determined to get back to playing where he belongs.

But there remains areas that the 26-year-old needs to work on and that is where Arthur feels, the excellent Wasim Akram could help him.

“I want Wasim [Akram] to help us with the wrist position of Mohammad Amir, If he can do that, it will be a mouthwatering prospect,” Arthur was quoted telling on ARY News.

Present at the PSL draft for the 2019 edition of the event, Arthur also spoke about continuing with Imad Wasim as the skipper for Karachi and showered praise over the determined all-rounder.

"Continuity of captaincy is so important," Arthur reiterated, "I think Imad Wasim is a good captain, he is a very good cricket and we know that, so I am looking forward to seeing him lead Karachi Kings to some success in the next season," before talking about Australian fast bowler Aaron Summers, whom Kings picked in the Gold category, “He bowls at 150 km/h, he is incredibly athletic, very good in the field and hits a long ball."

"He is not a surprise choice, because we had done our homework on him, but it is a pick that we hope will be the pick of the PSL," he signed off.
