AB de Villiers praises David Miller for filling his boots in Proteas lineup

David Miller had said that South Africa will have a tough challenge in 2019 WC without De Villiers.

AB de Villiers called time on his international career in May this yearAB de Villiers is sorely missed from international cricket ever since he decided to retire abruptly in May of 2018. The former Proteas captain was considered to be a vital member of the team and was to play a big role in 2019 World Cup for South Africa. But De Villiers called time on his international career citing too much pressure.

Even former teammate and big hitter David Miller admitted that it will be difficult for the Faf du Plessis led-side in the 2019 World Cup without De Villiers.

“Yes, we have big shoes to fill. Actually, I don't think we will be able to fill it, to be honest with you. But at the same time as I said to so many people, someone steps in and we can still win some games. The atmosphere in the dressing room has been extremely good. Life moves on and we got to take the opportunity when it comes," Miller told CricketNext.

AB de Villiers decided to respond to a tweet by Circle of Cricket sharing the article mentioning the quote from David Miller.

AB de Villiers tweeted in response, “You’ve already filled it and more @DavidMillerSA12 !
