Franchises release Shahid Afridi, Pollard, and Sangakkara for PSL 2019 draft

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises released some big names from their squad which included Shakib Al Hasan, Kieron Pollard, Shahid Afridi, Misbah ul Haq, Kumar Sangakkara, and Mohammad Hafeez.

Every franchise was allowed to retain 10 players in their squad for the upcoming season. The players were retained as per different category, Platinum, Diamond, and Gold.

Defending champions Islamabad United retained their star player Luke Ronchi. The Karachi Kings have retained players like Colin Munro and Mohammad Amir. 

Fakhar Zaman was kept by the Lahore Qalandars. Peshawar Zalmi retained names such as Wahab Riaz and Hasan Ali. The Quetta Gladiators have kept Sarfraz Ahmed, Shane Watson, and Sunil Narine. Multan Sultans will go to the next season with Shoaib Malik and Junaid Khan.

The draft is set to take place next on November 20 and the fourth edition of the PSL will begin on February 14 in the UAE. Some huge names of cricket like AB de Villiers, Steve Smith, Brendon McCullum, and Chris Lynn will be included in the draft.
