Dismissing the perception that endorsing can be a genuine distraction to a cricketer, Indian skipper and world cricket's biggest brand Virat Kohli has said that balancing the two is not as tough as is made out to be.

Speaking during a promotional event in New Delhi on Saturday, November 10, Virat told everyone present, “I was 25-26 when I got associated with Wrogn (his own clothing brand). Even then people thought I am entering into business at 25, I am too young for it,”

Having recently celebrated his 30th birthday, country's best batsman asserted, "As a professional sportsman there is not a set age to do business because you have to establish a business whenever you start it," reiterating, "It is a cliche that you should do business only after a specific age. I don’t believe that."

However, the dominant force stressed that a player must mentally be able to balance his cricketing and commercial interests.

“I don’t believe that you can’t do endorsement while playing. I don’t believe in all of that. If you have limited time, you should know how to establish (your product) in a limited period of time,” he emphasized.

Rested from the ongoing T20I series against West Indies, Virat will now be seen in action during the upcoming tough tour of Australia, which starts with the first T20I at Gabba on November 21.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy begins at Adelaide from December 6.
