Prithvi Shaw, who began his Test career with a scintillating century against the West Indies at Rajkot last month, has started training again after recovering from an elbow injury sustained during the recently held Deodhar Trophy.

In a bid to prepare for the upcoming Australia tour, Shaw is said to have begun his training in the presence of batting great Sachin Tendulkar.

As per a report in TOI, Shaw trained for an hour at the MIG Club and that too with a rubber ball.

"Tendulkar, Prashant Shetty and Jagdish Chavan all gave throw-downs to him at MIG for about an hour. Tendulkar and Chavan gave throw-downs to him with a wet rubber ball on a tarpaulin (used to protect the wicket against rain), in order to prepare him for the Australian tour. Because of Prithvi, Tendulkar came about an hour early to MIG (the batting great is running the Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy at MIG).

"Tendulkar was sharing a few tips with Shaw about batting in Australia too. Shaw has begun his routine by batting against the rubber ball on Monday and practiced on Wednesday (Diwali) too," a source told TOI on Wednesday.

Shaw lived a dream debut Test series against the West Indies as he aggregated 237 runs at an average of 118.50 across three innings and earned ‘Man of the Series’ award.

Living up to the hype of India’s next batting superstar, Prithvi smashed a century on his debut match in international cricket. Shaw, at 18 years and 329 days, notched the three-figure mark off 99 balls on Day 1 of the first Test at Rajkot.

His 134 led the foundation for India’s mammoth first innings total – 649/9 (declared). Subsequently, Indian bowlers ripped through the Windies batting line-up in both the innings and secured a thumping innings and 272-run victory.

After putting the Man of the Match performance at Rajkot, Shaw came up with another dominating knock of 70 in the first innings of Hyderabad Test. He ended up with 33* in the second essay to secure a resounding 10-wicket victory for India.

Owing to his injury, Shaw missed Mumbai's Ranji Trophy opener against Railways in New Delhi from November 1 to 4. He is set to tour New Zealand with the India A team in the next few days under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane before joining the senior team for the Australian tour.
