Ahead of the ICC Women’s World T20, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has said that her troops are quite young and are confident of doing well in the marquee event, slated to be held in West Indies from November 9.

“Well, we were very satisfied that, like, we did really well in the last 50-over World Cup, and we’re looking forward now for the World T20 also. And the way we played the last couple of months, we are really happy as a team and we’re looking forward to do well in this World T20 also,” Harmanpreet told ICC.

“We have quite a young team, except two-three players, who have some World Cup experience – except that we have a very young unit. And I think they performed really well in the last couple of months,” she added.

India will take on New Zealand in their opening encounter on November 9.

Defending champions West Indies skipper Stafanie Taylor, who was also there in the event, hoped of regaining the title at home.

“I think for any team, winning at home is a big deal. You always want to win with the support of your fans, your families, coming to see you. And I think for us it’s a great deal and to win — to regain the title here and not just that, but the first-ever stand-alone T20, that would be history,” she said.

“We definitely would want to create history again. People here in the Caribbean are very passionate about cricket. And I do believe that people will come out and support,” Stafanie added.
