Graeme Smith, former South African skipper, and Cricket commentator, is worried about the growth of wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock at the international stage, saying he wants to see him grow into the top echelons like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

With the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup looming on the horizon, Proteas batting great Smith is really worried about the national batting in the One Day International cricket at the moment.

The 37-year-old former SA captain also believes that the batting frailty is the biggest concern for South Africa in build up for the next mega ICC event in England.

Smith told Cricinfo on Saturday (November 3), “Quinton de Kock - I feel he is stagnating in his career. I would've liked to see him grow into the top echelons like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.”

Meanwhile, former Proteas international also expressed concerns over all-rounder Chris Morris, saying the all-rounder is yet to prove his potential on the international stage.

Smith signed off by saying, “And also Chris Morris. He's a guy who's not quite lived up to his expectations. Whether it's a mental thing or a heart thing, I don't know. But I really want them to step up ahead of the 2019 World Cup.”

Noteworthy, De Kock and Morris both are part of the South African squad for the limited overs tour of Australia, where they will play three One Day Internationals and a one-off T20 International with the first ODI takes place in Perth on Sunday (November 4).
