Cricket South Africa (CSA) has cleared doubts about the availability of the swashbuckling West Indies batsman, Chris Gayle, in the Mzansi Super League (MSL) on Friday (November 2) by confirming that the 'World Boss' will available in the first weekend of the T20 extravaganza.

Gayle, who is arguably the best ever T20 cricketer, is also due to play for Kerala Kings in the T10 League in Sharjah from November 23 to December 2, which raised questions over his availability in the Proteas T20 tournament. But CSA chief executive Thabang Moroe has confirmed that Gayle will available for Jozi Stars in the first round of the MSL, which will get underway from November 16.

The T20 event will have 32 matches with the final will be played on December 16 while the tournament opener will be played between Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans on November 16.

As per reports in Sport24, Moroe said, “We are excited to have Chris part of this tournament from the start and he is looking forward to linking up with his Jozi Stars teammates. Seeing the 'World Boss' back in South Africa and playing cricket - we and the fans could not have asked for anything better than one of the most popular players that have ever played the game.”

Noteworthy, Gayle’s presence will provide an extra edge to the formidable line-up of Stars which already has Proteas marquee superstar bowler Kagiso Rabada, left arm paceman Beuran Hendricks along with the stylish batsman Reeza Hendricks in the line-up.

Gayle’s Jozi Stars will start their MSL campaign against Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, November 17.
