A day after his letter to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made headlines on the front pages, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly has said that his remarks are also the ‘voice of everyone’.

“I wrote it (the letter) because it was important. That is the voice of everyone. You speak to the broadcasters, you speak to other people and they will tell you the same thing,” Ganguly told Sportstar.

In his letter, Ganguly has expressed his disappointment over the recent developments that have taken shape in BCCI administration under the umbrella of Committee of Administrators (CoA), ranging from changing of rules midway into the cricketing season to sexual harassment charges on the CEO of the board, Rahul Johri.

"I don’t know how far it’s true, but the recent reports of harassment has really made the BCCI look poor, more so the way it has been handled. The committee of CoA from four has come down to two and now the two seems to be divided," Ganguly wrote in the letter to BCCI officials, accessed by CNN News 18.

On the change of cricketing rules, the legendary Indian captain wrote, "Cricketing rules are changed in the middle of a season, which has never been heard off. Decisions made in committees are turned around with complete disrespect. One of my friends who is involved in matters relating to the functioning of the board asked me who should they go to (for a problem), I had no answer. I had to ask who should I invite for an international game from a particular association as I did not know what was going on."

Ganguly made it clear that he stands by whatever he has stated in the letter.

“It is simple. what is there in the letter (is absolutely true) … you can speak to people and they will tell you the same thing. Everyone is aware of what is happening (around),” Ganguly said.

When asked if he has got a chance to speak to some of his former colleagues about the ongoing situation in the BCCI, Sourav said: “The cricketers won’t know what is happening in the administration. Only the people involved in administration will know what is happening. It is as simple.”
