Suspended Australian batsman Steve Smith has successfully made it to the Australian Financial Review (AFR) Young Rich List for the first time despite serving a one-year ban for his role in the most controversial ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

According to news.com.au, the 29-year-old right-hander has collected a total personal wealth of USD 27 million in 2018, while placed on 95th position in the list of richest man in Australia with the basketball player Andrew Bogut is leading the list.

In March, Smith along with opener David Warner was handed a one-year ban by the Cricket Australia with their involvement in the ball-tampering scandal that took place during the third Test match of the four-match series against South Africa at New Lands.

Following the saga, Smith had not only lost the Australian captaincy but also some lucrative associations including the Indian Premier League contract. He is currently playing only Club and franchise Cricket.
