A surprising incident came in light during the Super 50 Cup, West Indies domestic 50-over tournament. The match between Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies B saw a strange incident where Dwayne Bravo bowled with a tennis ball instead of a conventional cricket ball.

Trinidad was defending 318 runs when Bravo tried these tactics at the Queen’s Park Oval on October 11. Eventually, T & T won the game by 70 runs.

Batsman Kimani Melius raised an objection but umpires, Jaqueline Williams and VM Smith ignored it. Melius was allowed to keep two runs that he ran.

As per reports of Mumbai Mirror, Cricket West Indies is investigating the incident as it's been almost two weeks. Roland Holder, Senior Manager, Cricket Operations via an email told Mirror, “CWI is currently investigating the matter and no comment can be made at this time.”

International Cricket Council refused to comment saying, “Since this is not an international match, the ICC will not be offering any comment.”

Everyone was surprised seeing Bravo was handed over a cricket ball on his way back to the run-up. “It is not a ball, it is a tennis ball. He bowled a tennis ball, not the original white ball. He did not bowl a cricket ball, that is why he (batsman) saying what is going on,” the commentator was heard saying in the YouTube footage of the game. 

After second delivery was bowled, and the commentator remarks, “This is the real cricket ball, the first one he used a lawn tennis ball.”
