Terming the spot-fixing allegations by Al Jazeera in its latest investigatory documentary as "unsubstantiated", Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday, October 22, stated that the "the broadcaster has not been forthcoming with provision of any evidence whatsoever."

On Sunday, October 21, the Qatar-based platform Al Jazeera released an hour-long documentary in which it claimed that cricketers from England, Australia, and Pakistan carried out spot-fixing in 15 international games in a period dating back in 2011 to 2012.

Subsequently, the claims have been dismissed by Cricket Australia (CA) and England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and now, responding in rejection, PCB cleared, "The PCB is committed to its fight against corruption in cricket, It has and continues to cooperate, assist and coordinate with the ICC's anti-corruption unit in respect of investigations related to international cricket."

The PCB has been intent on taking serious action against whomsoever is found guilty of illegal activities. An example of which came recently, when it decided to further investigate the matter regarding Danish Kaneria, despite the leg-spinner having finally confessed to have done spot-fixing in the England domestic first-class cricket back in 2012.

The statement further informed, "PCB in the recent past has been proactive in uprooting the menace of corruption and has charged and banned numerous cricketers for failing to abide by the Anti-corruption Code. It stands by that resolve."
