Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur help India A rout Australia A in first match by 4 wickets

Anuja Patil picked 2/22 | File Photo India A defeated Australia A in the first T20 match at the Bandra Kurla Complex on Monday by four wickets. Indian team management had decided to field a full-fledged team keeping the upcoming World T20 in mind, which commences next month.

Smriti Mandhana hit a classy 72 off 40 balls and added 116 runs with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who made 45 runs off 39 balls to ensure India A won the match easily. India A had lost two quick wickets in Jemimah Rodrigues and Taniya Bhatia for just four runs.

Australia A scored 160-6 in 20 overs batting first, with Heather Graham scoring 43 and Naomi Stalenberg playing a knock of 39. Deepti Sharma picked 2/30 and Anuja Patil picked 2/22 for India.

With two more games to go in the series, India A will be hoping to fix the weak links before traveling to the Caribbean.
