Navjot Singh Sidhu says visiting Pakistan is better than going to South India

This is not the first time Sidhu did something which could land him in trouble.

Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu hasn't pleased his countrymen lately. His visit to Pakistan received a lot of flak. Sidhu had joined the oath ceremony of Imran Khan as Prime Minister of Pakistan. What really triggered everyone on this side of the boundary was him hugging Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Minister of Local Government and Tourism in Punjab is again in controversy after making an unacceptable comment. Speaking at a literary festival in Kasol, Sidhu said, "If I go to Tamil Nadu, I don’t understand the language. Not that I don’t like the food, but I can’t take it for long. That culture is totally different. But if I travel to Pakistan there is no difficulty. The language is the same and everything there is just amazing."

While promoting the culture of Punjab, Sidhu's words may not have pleased the South Indian people. It was in bad taste and he may also have to apologize as the controversy catches fire.

Sidhu also talked about his hug with Pakistan Army chief. He explained, "My Jhappi was no conspiracy, it was no Rafale deal... If somebody tells me that they are ready to open the Kartarpur corridor. I mean they said it 400 times that we are ready to open the corridor then this is the way I show affection. I will hug and also kiss them. I care two hoots about people who play dirty politics on that. I have lived my life on my terms."
