Cricket South Africa officially launch the Mzansi Super League

The inauguration edition of Mzansi Super League will be played from November 16 to December 16.

Cricket South Africa(CSA) has officially launched its own much anticipated T20 competition - The Mzansi Super League(MSL) - which is set to kickstart this year and is hoped to become an integral part of the Proteas' cricketing summer from now onwards. 

The inauguration edition of the league will be played from November 16 till December 16 and is expected to feature some of the best talents from around the world. 

The six franchise city-based tournament will take place across as many venues in the rainbow nation, with all the matches set to be given prime-time television viewing through live and exclusive broadcast from South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). 

Unveiling the whole exciting package, CSA CEO Thabang Moroe was quoted saying, “I would like to thank everyone involved in putting this milestone project together, We look forward to welcoming, and being entertained by, some of the world’s best cricketers. We are also confident that the MSL will serve the dual objective of becoming a launchpad for our next generation of T20 talent."

“The event tagline is ‘FUN. FAST. FOR ALL’ which speaks volumes about the competition’s concept as well as the unique Mzansi touch and appeal that we want to showcase to the world,” he added. 

Speaking on the development, Chris Maroleng, the SABC Chief Operations Officer, feels, “We are proud to be a part of this venture as we continue giving fresh and new sporting content in line with our overall objective to be the broadcaster of choice for all audiences," and added, “Our plans are well underway to make the MSL T20 the hottest sport spectacle this summer. South African audiences deserve the best sports content and this partnership with CSA is at the heart of our commitment to deliver this promise."

"We are putting together a world-class production that will showcase the expertise of the SABC to the rest of the world,” he signed off. 

The Logo for the competition was officially revealed too. 

The complete MSL T20 fixtures list and broadcast times, as well as ticket information, will also be made available from next week.
