Michael Holding impressed with India's fast bowling prowess

The legend showered huge praise on Ishant, Shami and Bumrah for their efforts in England.

Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah were magnificent in England

Former West Indies fast bowler and legend Michael Holding has said that it is the better and more conducive pitches in India and high quality fitness regime, which have led to the country producing a well-rounded and skillful fast bowling unit, finally.

Holding, who was commentating during the recent five-match Test series in England and watched the likes of Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma very closely, was quoted saying to Sportstar as, "I think the preponderance of fast bowlers in India is due to the fact that pitches that encourage fast bowlers are now quite prevalent in the country."

"The entire culture of nutrition and training seems to have changed over the years. They are all a lot stronger and fitter which enables them to maintain their pace over a longer period of time," he added.

Reflecting back on the series went by, Holding further said, "It was interesting to see that all the Indian pacers were quicker than all the England quicks who played the series," and added, "They are all different so they compliment each other whichever four are selected."

Holding knows that the challenge on the upcoming tour of Australia will be even tougher from the one in England, where the ball swung and seamed big - so different to how it is down under nowadays.

He signed off by emphasizing, "Who will do better in Australia will depend on how they adapt to the conditions (bounce and pace)," and added, "There are no easily identifiable qualities that should qualify or disqualify one from the other on the pitches."
