After playing a significant part in India's winning campaign in the U-19 Asia Cup 2018, left-arm spinner Harsh Tyagi has said that it is the constant guidance and mentorship from head coach Rahul Dravid, which helped him immensely. 

Tyagi was brilliant throughout the tournament but his exploits in the final are especially noteworthy. The youngster ran through the Sri Lankan batting line up and returned with figures of 10-0-38-6 to help India clinch a dominating victory. Tyagi was later rewarded with a man of the match award for his excellence, which must have boosted his confidence a lot. 

The modest Tyagi gave credit to his humble coach at that level, for his contribution towards a youngsters' success and said in an interview with Times Now, "I learned a lot from Rahul Dravid Sir. He told me that whether you score a 100 or 0, just learn something from every match you play. This will improve your game. As a cricketer, it is very important for you to groom yourself."

Tyagi, 18, made a critical decision regarding his game recently when he moved domestically from Delhi to Railways in search of more and better opportunities, and he feels, it is paying off huge dividends.

Talking about the reasons behind the move and how different and tough the first-class game is from the U-19 level, Tyagi said, "Just I wanted to play the game at the higher level. I got a good opportunity from Railways so I joined them," he added, "There’s a huge difference. In junior cricket, a batsman can give you his wicket due to the pressure on him but at the senior level, this doesn’t happen. They are all experienced, we get to learn a lot while playing senior cricket and it’s a good learning experience," and signed off.
