Shahid Afridi, former Pakistan skipper, and legendary all-rounder has preferred playing white-ball cricket game over Test cricket, saying he would like to move ahead with the times and modern generation more loves to play and enjoys limited overs cricket than Tests.

The leg-spinner, who has been playing T20 cricket across the globe since his retirement from International cricket last year, believes that the shorter format helps cricketer to extend their careers.

At the moment, Afridi, who returned to the field after a gap of three months, is representing Paktia Panthers in the Afghanistan Premier League 2018, where he is a marquee player for the franchise.

On Sunday (October 7), Afridi told khaleejtimes, “For me in today's times, Test cricket, no way. I loved playing One-Dayers. I feel if you don't enjoy something then you are forcibly trying to do it and I never liked being forced into anything. With T20s and T10s, our careers too have stretched. Lesser the overs in a format, our careers will carry on for a longer time.”

The all-rounder made his last appearance in the game for the Edmonton Royals franchise in the Global T20 Canada, where he had a dismal run scoring only 1, 5, 2 and an unbeaten 13 in the event.

Noteworthy, Afridi has played 27 Tests, 398 ODIs and 99 T20Is, while scored over 8,000 ODI runs and 395 wickets to his name in the White-ball game.
