Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has given up non-vegetarian food and turned vegan for his fitness. Kohli feels it has helped him improve his game. The 29-year-old is one of those athletes who never compromise with their fitness. Kohli not only works hard for his fitness, but he also inspires others as well.

As per the Times of India reports, Virat is following a vegetarian diet for the last four months. His current diet includes protein shakes, vegetable, and soya and has given up eggs and dairy products. "Kohli started this diet four months ago and is feeling stronger as his digestive power has increased. He isn't missing meat, eggs or dairy," sources said.

Virat, who is very aggressive on the field, has been benefited by the diet. His temperament has gotten calm lately.

His wife Anushka Sharma too has turned into a vegan, but it was Virat who had taken the step ahead of her. "Two years ago, when he was on a normal diet, he had said that he would go vegan if given a choice. He is now feeling stronger than before," sources said.

Kohli is currently leading the Indian cricket team against West Indies. The hosts won the first Test at Rajkot by their biggest ever margin in the longer format in terms of runs, i.e. 272 runs and an innings. Virat scored a ton in the innings and remained the highest scorer of the game with 139 runs.
