Ravichandran Ashwin is waiting for a comeback into the Indian limited-overs side. The off-spinner hasn't been a part of India's T20I or ODI side in last one year. The prominent spin duo of Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal made sure the offie has to stick to Test cricket only.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was Ashwin's spin bowling partner in shorter formats, wore the blue jersey again after Akshar Patel was injured. However, Jadeja was added only as an all-rounder and not one of the frontline spinners.

Recently, Ashwin, in a chat with Cricketnext, opened up about his urge to play for the Indian limited-overs team again. But the 32-year-old has no hard feelings against India's current spin twin Kuldeep and Chahal who has been doing very well.

“There is nothing as such, making peace and all. I think it’s only about coming to terms with what has happened and what’s panned out. You have got to give credit to Kuldeep and Chahal, who came in for myself and Jaddu and did really well. You have to applaud them. At the end of the day, competition is the healthiest thing,” he was quoted as saying by Cricketnext.

“How many teams in the world actually have the luxury of sitting spinners of Jaddu and my quality outside? That’s something you need to applaud them for, for having taken their chances with both hands. But to me, it’s all about standing behind the door and waiting for the opportunity. When the opportunity presents itself, I have to be ready to take it,” Ashwin added.

Ashwin isn't considered as an all-rounder and that is where Jadeja is above him. The all-rounder tag with Jadeja helped him get into the limited-overs side, unlike Ashwin, who will have to wait for the exclusion of either Kuldeep or Chahal to make a comeback.
