Virat Kohli is confident that his co-owned franchise FC Goa will do wonders in the upcoming edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). He also lavished praise on Spanish coach Sergio Lobera, saying the way team performed under him last season, he was extremely proud of them.

FC Goa had finished third in the previous season under the mentorship of Lobera, who will be at the helm of the franchise for the second season with Brazilian legend Zico, who is the longest serving manager of the side with 2 years and 106 days, in the upcoming 2018-19 season.

He believes that Sergio’s experience added a huge impact in the squad and helped the players gain confidence, which gives him the confidence that Goa can go on to clinch the ISL title this year.

On September 25, FC Goa posted a video on his official social media handle, where Kohli can be seen saying, “I'm confident we will do wonders this season, I was extremely proud to see the team perform under Sergio Lobera the way it did last year.”

Kohli, Captain of the Indian cricket team, further went on to reveal that the franchise will wear an orange jersey in the forthcoming ISL season, which depicts their pride and attitude.

He signed off by saying, “We have chosen the color orange this year for the jersey, which represents our fire, our focus and our hunger to win this trophy. The color is our team attitude and the team spirit.”

Noteworthy, the fifth season of the ISL will get underway from Saturday (September 29) with ATK hosting arch-rivals Kerala Blasters in the tournament opening encounter, while the Gaurs will open their campaign against North East United on October 1.
