Sri Lanka has announced their Test and ODI squads for the upcoming series against England at home.
Sri Lanka cricket has seen some turmoil in the past few days with Angelo Mathews being asked by the selectors to give up captaincy and Dinesh Chandimal being named the captain in all the three formats. Mathews, in response, called himself a scapegoat for Sri Lanka’s disastrous Asia cup 2018 sojourn where they were eliminated from the tournament in league stages after losing heavily to Bangladesh and Afghanistan.
Sri Lanka in their ODI squad, have dropped Angelo Mathews and brought in Sadira Samarawickrama. Also dropped was Kusal Mendis, whose bad run of form continued in Asia Cup 2018 as well.
In the Test squad, Kusal Mendis manages to keep his place and also included is Lahiru Kumara, who might or might not play, as he is subject to fitness. No major changes were seen in the Test squad, as Angelo Mathews managed to retain his place.
