Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja is usually so fluent with the mike in the commentary box. Ramiz, who represented Pakistan in 57 Tests and 198 ODIs from 1984 to 1997, has more than a decade-long experience as cricket commentator/presenter. However, he messed it up big-time during a T10 player draft event in Dubai on Monday.

As per a report published in the Pune Mirror, Raja made quite a few mistakes during the event. When one of the teams of the tournament, Punjabi Legends, roped in Afghanistan cricketer, Zahir Khan, Ramiz introduced him as Zaheer Khan, the former India pacer. It is worth mentioning here that Afghanistan’s Zahir is a Chinaman bowler.

Moreover, he read aloud some stage cues, words like “repeat”, which weren’t meant for public consumption. Interestingly, Ramiz’s errs came a day after he introduced CK Khanna as the acting president of Board of Control for Cricket in Pakistan during the presentation ceremony in Dubai.

Raja, however, had the presence of mind to cover it up. He did so by criticizing the unreadable handwriting on paper and also laughed at himself.
