The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has a passion for tattoos. He has got a total nine tattoos inked on his body. Despite being targeted by some former cricketers, the 29-year-old proved that being stylish doesn't mean you can't focus on your game.

The tattoos Virat has aren't just for sake of it. They are meaningful. In the show 'Mega Icon' by NetGeo, we got a close look at Virat. The show isn't a biopic but it helps people to understand the mind of most influencing Indians.

Kohli's tattoos include god’s eye, a Samurai warrior, his parents’ names, his Test and ODI cap numbers, and the Hindu god Shiva. “I don’t need to look any further than my both my arms to understand where I was and where I’ve come now,” he said in the show.

Virat credits his success to his parents. He got his mother's name 'Saroj' tattooed so she could stay with him forever. "Purely because the connection that I have felt with them is something that is unexplained. It is a feeling, it's not even something that can be put into words. Hence I wanted to make it a part of me until I'm alive," he added.

The Indian skipper has got Lord Shiva meditating on the Kailash mountain tattooed on his left forearm. He also has a monastery beside the tattoo of Shiva.

Virat became India's 175th ODI player and 269th Test player and he wants to keep the memory with him. No wonder he has got the numbers inked as well. Apart from it, the ever aggressive Kohli has also got the tribal art tattooed.

"These numbers will always remain with me because when you look back at the charts 200 years from now, in front of these numbers, there will be my name. These will always be special numbers and hence I decided to get them," he said.

We all have seen his zodiac sign in on right arm. He has also got the Japanese Samurai warrior with a raised sword. The Samurais had their life based on the concept of loyalty to one’s master, self-discipline and respectful, ethical behavior.

He said, "I felt like these are the same characteristics that I share. I've had to fight for everything that I've got in life so far, and I will have to be this person all my life because of the choices that I will keep making. And hence it was a representation of me wanting to do something so badly which was wanting to become a professional cricketer."

On right shoulder, Kohli has a tattoo of God's eye. He explained about the tattoo and said, "I call it the God's eye. So, basically, the all-seeing eye. That everything that's happening is being watched and there's someone always keeping a count of everything that you do. So that makes you feel connected in a way and also, that makes you understand the essence of life and what we need to do as human beings and what our eventual goal is."

Just above his God's eye tattoo, Virat has om. "The last one that I have here is finished with an Om symbol, which is the universal sound, which is probably the most consistent thing in the whole universe. Anywhere you observe sounds of the universe that is, you know, what is the most consistent sound that you will hear and that is the essence of life. To understand you're not even a dust particle in the universe and sometimes our ego allows us to think that we're everything. So, I think it's quite astonishing and quite magnificent in a lot of ways. I've started to understand that now... So, I have started to realize strongly that I'm meant to be where I am and this is not random," said Virat.
