Jemimah Rodrigues's half-century powered India to a five-wicket win in the 3rd T20I and helped the visitors take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Following up on the brisk 36 in the first game, another quickfire knock - 40-ball 57 - by the teenager helped India chase down the 132-run target with 10 balls to spare at the Colombo Cricket Club Ground on Saturday.

Asked to bat first, a couple of 30s from Shashikala Siriwardene and Nilakshi de Silva guided Sri Lanka to 131 for 8 in 20 overs. In reply, India rode on Rodrigues' 40-ball 57, studded with six fours and two sixes, to chase down the total in 18.2 overs.

The SL women lost early wickets as the Indian bowlers including skipper Harmanpreet Kaur took wickets at regular intervals to not give the SL score any momentum. Kaur and Arundhati Reddy took two wickets each as SL women could only muster 131 in their allotted 20 overs.

India lost Mandhana and Raj early in the quest of 132. Then it was Jemimah who kept a cool head and scored a 40 ball 57 with Harmanpreet chipping in with the bat as well. She scored an important 24. With only 19 needed in 25 balls, Krishnamurthy and Anuja Patil completed the formalities without any further damage to help India seal an unassailable lead in the series.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 131/8 in 20 overs (Shashikala Siriwardene 35, Nilakshi de Silva 31; Harmanpreet Kaur 2-3, Arundhati Reddy 2-19)lost to India 132/5 in 18.2 overs (Jemimah Rodrigues 57, Harmanpreet Kaur 24; Chamari Athapaththu 2-29) by 5 wickets.
